Hello everyone, just managed to sneak in a newsletter for this month. Some month we've had right?

Hard to believe this year has only been going four weeks.

We're pushing forward and have already launched a few new websites this year and should have a few more coming up as well. It's been exciting to explore new technologies and methods into our clients work; making their sites look and work better.

Google and the quality of search results

Does anyone else get the feeling Google is kind of broken lately?

Search Engine Optimisation has been all the rage for years, but there are those who have got Google 'figured out' to the point where useful information is genuinely hard to find.

A growing number of search results are filled with spam pages; rigged with keywords. These pages are of no help to the end user but are generating profit for the spam website and more frighteningly Google itself!

Many bloggers are writing on this topic and there's a mounting backlash against Google. So it's important to keep up to date on alternatives like Facebook advertising and Twitter word-of-mouth until they either clean up their act, or fade away.

The Web is a Customer Service Medium

A quite long (but really good) article about how the web needs to be looked at differently than print or TV. It is wholly its own beast; an interactive medium.

Website owners should begin to consider people are members, not visitors to their website.

There will always be website visitors who only need a passive experience; such as just getting a phone number or menu from a website. However the web can be leveraged to create a community of loyal customers who return for more.
